The Asmara brewery was founded in 1938 by the Italian engineer Luigi Melotti and started its production in 1939. The factory was originally made to produce liquor on a small scale. Over the years the brewery developed, improved, expanded and modernised. It now offers several kinds of beer and liquor and offers work to over 600 employees. The factory is owned by both the government and private investors and even exports several of its products abroad.

The factory’s capacity is 50.000 bottles of liquor monthly: anise, cognac, fnet, gin and zibib. The brewery’s capacity is 500.000 hectolitres of beer annually.

During your tour we’ll visit both the distillery and the brewery followed by a tour of the glass factory which has been around since 1960 and we’ll end our tour with some tasting.
